Arsenal began to re-think recruiting Riyad Mahrez in the summer transfer market in 2017. Price issues become a stumbling block for Arsenal get attacking midfielder Leicester City.
According to TalkSport, Thursday (6/7/2017), Arsenal reluctant to pay more than 35 million pounds to get Mahrez. But, Leciester City has pegged the Algerian national team’s price of 50 million pounds.
Arsenal are not sure Mahrez is worthy of that much appreciation. This is due to decline in Mahrez’s declining performance in the Premier League season 2016-17.
Mahrez scored only six goals in 36 appearances in the Premier League. The incision was far compared to the 2015-16 season, where he scored 17 goals from 37 matches.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also reportedly interested in US Monaco player Thomas Lemar. However, Monaco has protected his star player by fixing the price of 80 million pounds.
Earlier this week, Arsenal broke their transfer record by recruiting Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in a deal worth 52.6 million pounds.
